Art and Sustainability

The Society for Contemporary Craft (SCC) in Pittsburgh's Strip District is pleased to invite you to a lecture focusing on new uses of renewable energy to power art studios, life cycle assessment of waste and recycling policies. The talk, featuring glass artist Matt Eskuche, Lori Beck, founding member of Ohio Valley Creative Energy, and Anny YuShan Huang, PhD student in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University will take place March 12 at 6:30 pm in SCC's main galleries.

If you are interested but aren't able to attend this panel discussion, you may want to visit the complementary exhibit: The United State of America: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Crappiness. This exhibit will be on view in the Society for Contemporary Craft’s (SCC) alternative installation space, EAT: An Art Space About Food, in the Strip District through August 29, 2009 and features the work of internationally recognized glass artist, Matt Eskuche.
