Art Installation as Environmental Activism

This story, from Environmental Graffitti, is further evidence of the overlap of art and sustainability. In Helsinki, French artist duo Hehe used a green laser to illuminate the emissions from a coal fired power plant for an entire week during February of 2008. The size of the cloud, and the illumination, changed depending on the city's real-time energy use. The installation was titled "Nuage Vert" or "Green Cloud", and is already the recipient of several awards.
