Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dryvit and other synthetic stucco products are applied in a number of layers. Thus taking more time and labor. Dryvit needs a foam board layer, then base and final coats of stucco, all done by a professional installers. This appears to be a simpler DIY product with a simpler application process. I'd love to hear more about this product and it's use in Philly.

The description of the system in the newspaper article sounds like EIFS. Why couldn't an off-the-shelf product like Dryvit be used?
