Sustainability and Fast Food

This article from Green, Inc. discusses some of the energy efficiency measures now being taken by Fast Food establishments.  Last year, MSSD students spent several weeks of their studio course developing business concepts and building designs for "Sustainable Fast Food Restaurants" (some of that work can be seen here).  Many of the specific issues associated with food service buildings were addressed as design challenges in the studio projects.

This year, the studio groups will take on the task of reimagining the "Service Station of the Future", which, like fast food chains, is a necessary evil in need of a sustainability makeover.  Progress on these projects to follow...
