A new vision: green schools for everyone within this generation.

Expanding its efforts to drive change, USGBC has launched a new program. The Center for Green Schools Fellowship program will begin placing full-time sustainability officers in school districts across the country in July 2011.

The U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools was formed to expand USGBC’s efforts to drive change in how schools and campuses are designed, constructed and operated so they will enhance student learning experiences and bring green schools to every child within this generation. The Green Schools Fellowship program will provide partner school districts with a fully-funded, dedicated expert who will collaborate with district leadership to change the culture of the district from the inside out by providing clear direction, comprehensive training and valuable resources. The Fellow will act as the green champion within a school district for three years, implementing transformative practices and working hands-on with teachers, staff, and students to improve their learning environment .

Please note applications must be submitted to USGBC by February 28, 2011
