Green Roof is starting to come together at PhilaU's SEED

MSSD Students mock up a potential pattern for the roof!

The design process including gaining an understanding of the structural capacity of the existing roof and designing a system that would allow for some greenery on the roof without compromising safety. Special thanks to Mark from ECORE for donating the Ecomax product - made from 100% recycled tires.

Each summer, MSSD Students work together to complete green projects around the Philadelphia area. This year we worked with Philadelphia University's Physical Plant to desgn and construct a green roof and living wall for our new LEED Gold Certified SEED Center. Thanks to Physical Plant for all of their help on this project.
